The Bar Pro Bono Unit is a charity which helps find pro bono (free) legal assistance from volunteer barristers.  The Bar Pro Bono Unit is unable to assist where the client can obtain Legal Aid.  Clients or their advisers MUST find out whether public funding can be obtained before an application is made to the Unit.
