Profile raising

  • Advised in Birmingham: Working with and supporting the solicitors and barrister's professions, the judiciary, the Birmingham branch of the Institute of Legal Executives and local teaching institutions as well as other key agencies such as Birmingham Forward and Birmingham Future, Birmingham City Council, Locate in Birmingham and Advantage West Midlands
  • In 2007 we continue to promote the legal profession, although the Advised in Birmingham initiative is now in the hands of Birmingham Forward in order that they may take the opportunity to promote all the professions in the West Midlands region
  • Lobbying at local and national government levels, and with the national Law Society
  • Keeping in touch with members through a monthly magazine (the Bulletin) focusing on events, current legal developments, issues and lifestyle
  • Providing a focal point for the public seeking referral to

    Forging strong professional and social links

  • Regular meetings with the Birmingham Young Solicitors' Group, and Birmingham Trainee Solicitors' Society
  • A strong bond with local law societies forming the West Midland Association of Local Law Societies
  • Links with the East Midland Association of Local Law Societies
  • Quarterly meetings with Bristol, Liverpool, and Manchester local law societies to discuss issues of national and local importance
  • Regular discussions with West Midlands Police
  • Representation on local and national bodies ie the Law Society, Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry, local Court groups, Legal Services Commission
  • Social and sporting events, including our prestigious annual President's dinner, our Legal Awards Dinner and ceremony, both of which provide a social platform to build professional networks
